I am there at almost anytime -
rain or shine -
anytime.
When the deluge parts
cross-members holding hearts,
or scorching sun beats
the will almost (not quite) to death.
Did I say “almost anytime”?
Did I slip out of mind
and knit the “all” with “most”
to leave a fraction of a chink -
a moment in a lifetime's gap?

Too soon the train is gone

(but one by some mystery entire.)

warming guiding in the dark
(no dark when starlight marks a course.)
